As stated at my original post, I didn’t have much of a guideline to work with when writing Dekar’s obituary. Therefore, this page is being set up as a resource to help other parents of babies who have been taken too soon.
All obituaries/memorials have been used with permission and if requested, sanitised to protect privacy. Thank you to those who have been willing to share their obituaries in order to help other grieving families. If you would like to share your baby’s obituary please use the contact form. Let me know if I can use it as is, or if you would like me to sanitize any portion for privacy purposes. You may also provide a link for obituaries that have been published online.

Dear family. There are no words to describe the lose of your loved one. The best friend a person can have is our Creator, Jehovah God. Pour out your heart to him in prayer because “he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7) Moreover, he promises that all who do so will have their thoughts and feelings soothed by “the peace of God that surpasses all understanding.” (Philippians 4:6, 7)

My great grand son is scheduled to arrive by c section on April 28. he has had no amniotic fluid since 20 weeks. He will be delivered at 39 weeks and has been given 0% chance of survival due to no kidney function and no lung development. Although we are praying for a miracle, the task of writing the obituary (when it becomes necessary) will fall to me. Thank you for this site.

This has been so helpful. I experienced the same thing on 2/5/2014. I am a grandparent and it seems that this duty will be placed upon me to carry out. My grandson was born at 31 week with no heartbeat. No explanations. But it is a blessing that everyone has shared their announcements and samples with everyone. Thank you all so much.

Lynn, I am also thankful for the many people who allowed me to share their memories in order to help others. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your grandson. Before losing Dekar I had some miscarriages and heard of other people’s losses. But my eyes were really opened to how often it happens after Dekar was diagnosed with T18/hypo-plastic left heart syndrome. 😦 I am glad that his memorial site has been helpful to you. If you would like to share any of your grandson’s items, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you for sharing. I worked for several printing companies where designing funeral programs came easy, but when it came to doing my twin granddaughters, I was at a loss. The were born at 21 weeks with heartbeats. Their lungs were not developed. My daughter was giving meds because she was so upset that the girls came early and knowing that they would not live. I held them til they passed. Seeing my daughter hurting was doubly painful. Your website helped me with the Memorial Service and Programs.
